Day 35

Husband picked this book up for me at the library.  He thought it was a "me" book.  The title is crap, but, the book is awesome so far!

Day 34

You can't resist the cute!

Day 33

My new bag arrived from Etsy this past weekend and I carried it today.

Monday 26 May 2008

Day 32

My purchases from Oxfam.  A nifty new teapot and a book I have wanted for ages.  All for £4!

Day 31

On the second day in the Peaks, I shot this photo.  It reminded me of a painting and also how much I adore nature.

Day 30

I caught this  kitty surveying his domain at Peveril Castle in the Peak District.

Day 29

The oak supports for the Octagon Tower at Ely Cathedral.  They have been in place for 700 years and the oak is over 1000 years old.

Day 28-Failure

Today, I fail because I left my camera at home.  When I got home, the battery was dead.  Better luck tomorrow!

Wednesday 21 May 2008

Day 27

The grass near the rugby pitch is nearly as tall as I am!

Day 26

Our dog, Buster, sitting for a "treat" because my husband dared to put his hand in his pocket (sadly, there was no treat in the pocket and he had to wait until we got home).

Day 25

When I was in college, my close friend and I purchased this Thor's Hammer for her mother, Ruth.  Ruth, who was like my second mom, passed a few years ago and it came into my keeping. It now sits on my bedside table on top of a piece of Leicestershire sandstone that I picked up on one of our walks.  I saw it today and thought it was pretty illustrative of my past and my present.

Day 24

The husband and I went for a walk around Grafham Water today.  I saw this interesting tree and loved all the colors!

Day 23

The remains of the Mexican Feast at Karen's last night after 8 hungry people ate loads.  There was A LOT of food.  I am currently suffering from a food hangover and the husband just had Tres Leches cake (made by Meghann) for breakfast.  It was good fun and good company!

Day 22

Tea and the iPod.  It was the only thing that got me through work today.

Day 21

Typical stuff for work.  The orange glow from the bad office lighting is particularly lovely.  Ha!

Day 20

I was at a conference for work and had to stay overnight.  This is how I spent my evening.

Tuesday 13 May 2008

Day 19

I visited London today.  We got held up on the tube because someone threw themselves in front of a train.  Not the best start to the day.

Day 18

Haddon Hall solar

Day 17

I am posting four today as I couldn't decide and neither could my husband.  I hope you don't mind the cheating.

The light in this setting caught my eye as we walked the Northamptonshire countryside.

A view down the wall of Rockingham Castle.

A twisted tree branch in Rockingham Castle.

Day 16

This little guy decided to pose for me today at Woburn Abbey.

Friday 9 May 2008

Day 15

Carved medieval lion head at Denny Abbey near Cambridge.

Day 14 (Thursday, May 8)

Coin collecting is something that I became interested in because of my grandfather.  We would spend hours sorting through piles of coins.  Of course, medieval coins are my favorite.  Whilst in York, I fell victim to the beauty of two new coins.  I took them out of their boxes just a few minutes ago.  A Henry VIII groat (on the left) and an Edward VI shilling (on the right).  Now, I just need a Henry VII and a Mary I to complete my Tudor coin collection.  They are the first antiques I have purchased in about 7 years.

Day 13

Tulips in the Museum Gardens in York City Centre.

Day 12

York Minster dominates the York skyline.  I adore York.

Day 11

I caught this funny moment between my husband and Bailey.  Ignore the "dogs were playing" mess.

Day 10

Castle Acre Priory.  It was a lovely day out!

I'm back! (Day 9)

With new camera in hand!  I am missing a few days because the old camera refuses to spit them out.  So, I will just pick up where I left off:

This is Marley.  He is another of our sweet dogs.  He is never still so this photo is fantastic.
